San Francisco: Euchre anyone

topic posted Mon, November 8, 2004 - 12:49 PM by  Jon
Being a transplant from Illinois, I am sad to see no one play many card games out here. This is epecially true with euchre.

Anyone up for trying to put together a game at coffee shop or chill bar?

Euchre is a 4 player card game that is somewhat similar to bridge in it's most basic rules. Each 2 player team (vs. the other 2 player team) try to take as many tricks (or books) as they can after trump is determined. It is a very social and fast paced card game.

It's primarily played in the Midwest of the US, Canada and Australia.

    Jon,
Indiana transplant here. I might have a Euchre game for you soon (thinking of having a card party in December). Contact me with a message.

You can also find a Euchre game online via Freeverse.com (they have Gamesmith server); it's better than Yahoo. They have Spades, Pitch/Setback, hearts, Crazy Eights, many board games, word games, and a few others. The demos are free.

There's a couple groups that do regular card games in the city... I don't know if anyone knows euchre, but you might want to inquire over in the Board Games Bay Area tribe.

We will be playing Euchre again in January if anyone wants to join Jon and I. The date is not quite set (second sunday of the month ish), but if you are interested, just send me a message.
