"19" - a cribbage variant?

We recently had a customer tell us about a version of Cribbage that we had not heard about before. It was called "19." Normally it is not possible to score 19 under the rules of cribbage, but in this version a "nothing hand" that scores no points for any of the normal point earning combinations in Cribbage is worth actually 19 points instead of zero. So if you have a bad hand, one of the strategies is to discard any potentially good cards that you have in hopes of scoring a 19.
